Wilo Salmson Ltd has acquired the German pump manufacturer EMU Unterwasserpumpen GmbH, retaining the existing EMU brand name. Currently the Wilo range consists of domestic pumps for heating, air conditioning and refrigeration, and light commercial water supply and waste water lifting. The acquisition of EMU adds a new range of heavy-duty industrial and water and sewage treatment products, including pumps for sludge, tertiary waste and potable water. The new company will enable the Wilo group both to increase penetration of its traditional markets and to enter new markets, especially in the heavy industry, process and water treatments sectors.
