Stainless submersible borehole pumps

KSB Aktiengesellschaft has launched a new submersible borehole pump series. The UPA 100 C series is designed to be used in water supply, irrigation, pressure boosting and fire protection duties. The maximum discharge head is 400 m and the maximum flow rate 15,000 l/hr. The temperature of pumped fluids can go up to 30° C. All components are made of stainless steel. The robust pump unit is capable of handling water with a solids content of 50 g/m3. The minimum thickness of the stainless steel walls is 1 mm. According to the manufacturers, an integrated, hydraulically optimised anti-blockage design check valve prevents the discharge pipe from emptying when the pump unit is switched off. This should ensure that the pump is not damaged as a result of reverse rotation.
