Al Hassan Engineering Co. (AHEC) has been awarded contracts for a major gas pipeline in Oman and civil works for a power station in Dubai worth a combined value of OMR 20 million. A spokesman of AHEC said that under a OMR 10 million contract from the Oman government’s gas department, AHEC will be responsible for construction of flowlines and pipelines of the Burhan West and Harmal Pipeline project, along with associated electrical distribution, control, monitoring and protection infrastructure. The project is being managed by Petroleum Development Oman. AHEC’s Dubai subsidiary, Al Hassan Engineering Co. Dubai, had been awarded an OMR 10 million contract for civil works for a Dubai Electricity and Water Authority 400/132 kilovolts substation. Siemens, which is in charge of contract work for the expansion of Dubai’s power distribution network, selected AHEC for the project which includes earthworks, buildings, equipment compounds, roads, lighting and small power.
