Höegh LNG has awarded FEED contracts to Chicago Bridge & Iron (CB&I) and Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) for its LNG Floating Production Storage and Offloading Project (FPSO). CB&I will be responsible for the topside modular design, and DSME’s concentration will be the hull, utilities, and integration work. According to Höegh, the FPSO will be able to liquefy up to 3.0 billion cum per year, which will yield annually between 1.6 and 2.0 million tons of LNG. In addition to its production capabilities, the FPSO will have an LNG carrying capacity of 190,000cum. The project is expected to go to FID by 2009 and to be completed by 2012, but Höegh has not yet disclosed potential locations for the FPSO.
