Kahramaa launches SCADA project

In a bid to increase the volume of its pumped water and to closely detect the possible leakages and distribution loss in the water network system, the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corp. (Kahramaa) has launched an electronic Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition project. The QAR 212 million project is billed as the first of its kind in the region and is aimed at increasing the amount of water being pumped to Kahramaa customers as well as to monitor the system in order to reduce distribution loss and discover the leakage and break ups in the network. The SCADA centre will manage a number of technical programs that work to control the transmission and distribution of water networks, water production plants and the level and stock of water in major stations and reservoirs.
