Highly engineered valves for Sabine Pass LNG train 6

Houston-based LNG exporter Cheniere Energy signed at the end of 2018 the engineering, procurement, and construction deal with the LNG engineering giant Bechtel for Sabine Pass Train 6. Both customers have trusted again in AMPO POYAM VALVES for the design and manufacture of more than 2000 valves for this new LNG train, which consists of the addition of one liquefaction train to the already existing 5 trains. Consequently, tens of thousands of AMPO POYAM valves will be installed in the most important liquefaction facilities in the US.

Each train at the Sabine Pass site is capable of producing 4.5 million tonnes per year of the chilled fuel and trains 1 through 5 are now operational.

AMPO POYAM VALVES will supply for this new sixth train the following LNG valves: manual cryogenic ball valves, cryogenic globe, and check valves, as well as actuated cryogenic and non-cryogenic ball valves and metal seated valves. The valves’ sizes will range up to 54” and the pressure range will vary from 150 to 1500 lbs. It is important to mention that besides the outstanding isolation capability of our big sized cryogenic top entry ball valves, these valves reduce the pressure drop in the line and consequently, smaller equipment may be used.

AMPO POYAM VALVES has supplied since 2005 more than 20,000 highly engineered valves for Cheniere’s Sabine Pass LNG project and whole trains of Corpus Christi LNG project. Some of them, 36” and 42” HIPPS valves achieved perfect isolation in less than 2 seconds. These orders also included cryogenic, non-cryogenic and metal seated ball valves.
