Duplex pumps used in gas project

The Oil & Gas Division of SPP Pumps has recently been awarded a contract by J Ray McDermott Asia Pacific for the Chevron Platong Gas II Project. The overall project involves the design, construction, and installation of a new central processing platform to be located in the Gulf of Thailand. McDermott is the EPC Contractor for the project. SPP’s scope of supply is for 2 x GL12Q 2-stage, and 1 x GH14H 5-stage, diesel driven vertical lineshaft fire pumps. The packages are scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2009. The pumps are taken from the SPP vertical line shaft range and are constructed from super duplex stainless steel with nickel alloy shafting. The firewater pumps’ diesel engines feature both primary and secondary battery starting systems for absolute reliability offshore.
