Compact gear pumps for high pressures

A new series of tough, durable and compact, close-coupled gear pumps which are capable of handling differential pressures up to 24 bar and flows to 75 lit/min, has recently been introduced by Michael Smith Engineers. The Liquiflo Max™ Series is available in either 316 stainless steel or Titanium precision machined, heavy-duty bodies to ensure long service life, even in high pressure applications where other types of gear pumps may fail. Well suited to most chemical pumping applications, these pumps are offered in seven sizes in either single or double mechanical seal or magnetic drive configurations. The pumps incorporate a new design of helical gear which is smoother and quieter than spur gears to ensure reduced pulsations and therefore less stress on internal components. All wear plates have specifically designed relief paths to eliminate hydraulically induced gear separation forces. The Precipitate Hardened (PH) stainless steel provides optimum corrosion resistance and so extends the pumps suitability to ‘difficult’ chemical applications.
