Cameroon: LNG project

The Franco-Belgian firm GDF Suez SA and Cameroon’s state-run National Hydrocarbons Corp., or SNH, have reached an agreement giving the European consortium authority to exploit and produce the African nation’s LNG. The agreement gives the consortium the right to carry out feasibility studies to develop a LNG project in Cameroon. The study will include onshore extraction of liquefied petroleum gas for domestic needs, the production of condensate necessary to increase supply of local crude oil to Cameroon’s refinery and the creation of additional capacity for power generation.
