Andritz providing pumps in Egyptian irrigation project

Andritz (the International Technology group) has received an order from Concord for Engineering and Contracting in Cairo, Egypt, to supply 17 vertical line shaft pumps — including a set of spare parts — for a pumping station that provides the water supply to the Nubaria irrigation canal (located south of the city of Alexandria).
The pumps will be individually adapted to the customers’ specifications and will achieve an aggregate flow rate of 11.7 m3 per second, with each pump achieving a head of 28 meters at a shaft power of 222 kW.
Factors at play in the process of awarding the order to Andritz included the pumps’ technical featured and low life-cycle costs, as well as Andrtiz’s past experience in the sector (including the Middle East and Africa). These regions were first supplied with Andritz irrigation pumps and equipment in the 1960s.
